Governor John Kasich recently appointed Sean V. McCarthy as the new Franklin
County Municipal Court Judge. He will start on July 27.
Sean McCarthy will become a Franklin County Municipal Court Judge on July
27. Previously, McCarthy served as a judge for the Franklin County Common
Pleas Court. To retain his seat for the rest of the unexpired term (until
January 1, 2018), McCarthy has to win the general election in November.
McCarthy received his undergraduate education at Loyola University Chicago
and then moved on to Ohio State University where he earned his master’s
degree. McCarthy attended Capital University where he received his law
degree. McCarthy has not only worked as a Franklin County judge, but also
in a variety of capacities at the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office.
