Columbus Criminal Defense Attorney Brad Koffel and Koffel Brininger Nesbitt
have been retained by a Marion County judge and his wife who reportedly
left the scene of a motor vehicle crash.
As reported by the
Marion Star, Marion County Common Pleas Judge Jason D. Warner and his wife Julie Warner
were involved in a crash on June 4 in Green Camp Township, and left the
scene before authorities from the Ohio Highway Patrol arrived. According
to a police report, Mrs. Warner was driving and Judge Warner was a passenger.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
In a statement published by the
Star, Attorney Koffel notes:
“They reported the accident to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office
and subsequently to the Ohio State Patrol. Both Judge Warner and his wife
voluntarily spoke to investigators and consented to the gathering of physical
evidence from their vehicle. Once the physical evidence is received and
reviewed, we expect the State of Ohio to release its findings to the public.
I have advised Judge Warner and Julie Warner to refrain from making any
public comment until the investigation is completed.”
