Attorney Wesley Freeman joined Koffel Brininger Nesbitt in 2015. Mr. Freeman has been practicing criminal law since the beginning of his legal career. Prior to starting law school, Mr. Freeman interned at the TIES (Treatment is Essential for Success) Program in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. As a student at Capital University Law School, Mr. Freeman externed at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitations and Corrections and clerked with a Franklin County Municipal Court Judge.
In his last year at Capital, Mr. Freeman was hired as a law clerk with the Franklin County Public Defender, where he worked part-time. He later became a legal intern and assisted with motion hearings and trials, in addition to working in courtrooms.
After graduating and passing the bar exam in 2012, Mr. Freeman was hired as a Staff Attorney in the Municipal Unit of the Franklin County Public Defender. At the Public Defender, Mr. Freeman was a zealous advocate for his clients and learned how to manage a large docket. He dealt with all kinds of criminal and traffic cases and learned how to solve a plethora of legal issues. Mr. Freeman negotiated favorable plea bargains with prosecutors, secured fair sentences with judges, and gained valuable litigation experience in his time at the Public Defender.
EducationMr. Freeman earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton in 2009. He then earned his J.D. from Capital Law School in 2012. Mr. Freeman is thrilled to bring his expertise in criminal and traffic defense to The Koffel Law Firm.
