Criminal Defense Attorney Brad Koffel recently appeared on an episode of Bret Adams’ Lawyers are Assholes podcast for a conversation about grand juries. In addition to providing a brief history of the grandy jury process, Koffel and Adams debate its problems – including overcharging by prosecutors, no right to counsel, and an overall layer of secrecy – and the case of Deshaun Watson, whom two Texas grand juries declined to indict after considering evidence in a criminal complaint alleging sexual misconduct.
